Fishing Lake

Discover a hidden, member-exclusive fishing paradise, just a short walk from us.

Cast Away in a Secret Shropshire Paradise

Tucked away in the spectacular South Shropshire hills just west of the Long Mynd, Betchcott Fishing Lake is an exclusive, stream-fed haven waiting to be discovered.

Though this mature, two-and-a-half-acre pool is now strictly members-only, Guests staying in one of our cottages enjoy full, privileged access to its well-stocked waters for a small daily charge. A peaceful five-minute stroll from the farm brings you right to the water’s edge, just grab the gate’s lock code upon arrival and enjoy your own private slice of angling heaven.

Lovingly Maintained

There is something special about a lake looked after by people who truly love the sport. Maintained with deep respect for the surrounding nature, this peaceful pool is a paradise for both fish and fishermen. It’s well-stocked with hard-fighting Carp, Barbel, Ide, Bream, Roach, Chub and Perch. Structurally, it’s an angler’s dream: explore the deep, mysterious 10-foot waters by the dam, or enjoy a relaxing session in the comfortable four-foot shallows that span half the lake.
